Client Relationship Executive

(Women of Choo Yilin Leadership Discovery Programme)

Responsibilities

The Client Relationship folk at Choo Yilin are essentially consultants to our clients. Their role is to build trust and respect quickly amongst our clients, and this entails the following skill sets:

  • Being product experts in fine jewellery manufacturing and gemstones (This will be taught).
  • The ability to have meaningful, sophisticated conversations with our clients. Our clients are thought leaders in their own right: they are partners in law firms, medical doctors, academics, publishing editors and C-Suite executives. The level of servicing and consultation, in order to build trust and respect, needs to be of a very high level.
  • Having a huge amount of empathy and integrity because trust is crucial in this relationship.

What really happens on a day to day basis?

There are essentially a few components to this portfolio –

  • High level servicing – There will be clients who will be seeking your assurance on the products that they are thinking of purchasing or have already purchased. It will be incumbent upon you to ensure that they feel that their needs are well taken care of. This is why product knowledge is extremely important, and this is also why empathy and integrity is also key. We need to make sure that promises we make are kept.
  • Pitching, Presentations and Negotiations – The majority of our jewellery that we sell are heirloom pieces that are for emotionally important events. The average transaction of each invoice range is easily mid-four digits, with a good minority of them in the five-digit range. You can imagine the level of sophistication and skill one needs in the areas of pitching and presentations in order for trust and respect to be built.
  • Being the face of Choo Yilin – Two years after opening our first store in heritage-centric neighbourhood Joo Chiat, we have officially opened our new flagship boutique on 8th July 2016, at Mandarin Gallery, one of Singapore's premier luxury shopping destinations. This expansion in the heart of Orchard Road is a herald of the brand's success and reinforced our position as a luxury brand. With this however, comes the traditional retail hours of 11am – 9pm, where our Client Relationship Executives will need to roll up their sleeves and be the face of Choo Yilin to new-to-brand walk-in clients.

Requirements

 We want people who have huge amounts of empathy and integrity, married with the often-add odds characteristics of drive and ambition. We know these combination of character traits are rare, but we realized that these are characteristics that are crucial to be effective in this portfolio.

Other character traits we are looking for:

  • People who are highly communicative and articulate. The portfolio demands require it.
  • People who are deeply empathetic and care deeply for the brand’s success.
  • People with high levels of initiative and responsibility.
  • People who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and who understands the need to answer work calls/messages on the fly and on weekends.
  • Meticulous people who love to fix systems when things aren’t right
  • A diploma/degree from any discipline. We also realized that prior experience in Sales or Client Management is not necessary – so if you’re a fresh graduate please feel free to get in touch with us.

Part-Time Retail Executive

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Client Relationship Manager/Executives in the operations of the Mandarin Gallery Boutique.
  • Negotiating and closing high value sales.
  • Advising clients on all their stylist and fine jewellery needs.
  • Building and strengthening relationships with the clients.

Requirements

  • A good sense of aesthetics and a love for jewellery.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills supporting both a team environment and customer service.
  • Strong attention to details and good with numbers.
  • Experience in Luxury Retail would be an added advantage.
  • Able to work on weekends and retail hours, up to a total of 25-30 hours a week.

Business Development Intern

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparations for events and pop ups (a range of duties such as stock QC, set-up and tear down)
  • Driving revenue during pop up and events
  • Proactively collating customer feedback (focus here likely to be more on existing customers)
  • Gathering intel on customer base, growing knowledge of each demographic and their specific needs (to touch on existing customer base, but to focus on new-to-brand customers)
  • Collating sales data post-events to aid in analysis
  • Generating sales from post-event leads
  • Building and cultivating relationships with VIP customers through awareness of each VIP’s personal quirks, aesthetic style and shopping preference
