It is no coincidence that our previous three team members cited the team as one of the awesome factors of their job at Choo Yilin. Here’s our Jewellery Magician who describes himself as extremely adorable (seriously, no comments there. We’ll leave it to you to decide) and contributes tremendously to the lively and friendly team dynamics. True to his title, the Jewellery Magician, he creates magic by turning Priscilla’s design, and your inspiration into reality. If there’s any customization you need or a touch of magic to make your jewellery stand out, Norman Li’s the man to go.
On first sight, he might be mistaken for a reserved guy but when you do get to know him, oh boy, does he surprise you with his antics. Despite all that, his wish is to simply lead a happy and satisfying life. We catch up with this capable young man who currently studies part-time on top of his jewellery tricks to find out more about his role.
If I were to describe myself with a movie….. I’d have to say Luffy from One Piece. Animation counts right? But anyway, Luffy is always happy and stands up for the right things in life. And no doubt I identify with Luffy and aspire to be more like him.
The Jewellery Magician….. liaises very closely with our jewellery artisans to ensure that customised jewellery and our ready-to-wear collections get produced according to plan. This includes evaluating the customers’ request and identifying if the request can be done, followed by relaying this information to our artisans and corresponding with them regularly for updates. When the jewellery is completed and brought back to the shop, I examine and ensure that the quality is up to standard before communicating to the sales team who takes over from there.
Life at Choo Yilin
Working at Choo Yilin is awesome because….. of the flexible working arrangement. This usually means having the freedom to set my own working hours as long as I deliver what is expected of me. This is extremely useful given that I have to juggle between my full-time job responsibilities and school assignments.
What I hope for Choo Yilin is ….. for the company to grow. I envision the logistics team expanding and for me to have junior executives under my leadership.
